The Indian Premier League 2023 announces Tata Tiago EV as its official partner

On Thursday, Tata Motors declared that the Tiago EV would be the official partner of the forthcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), marking the sixth consecutive year of their association with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The IPL 2023 is set to begin on March 31. Through this collaboration, Tata Motors intends to raise awareness about electric vehicles (EVs). According to Vivek Srivatsa, Head of Marketing Sales and Service Strategy at Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, partnering with India's biggest media property will enable them to emphasize the significance of EVs, not just in urban India, but also in smaller towns. They hope to derive significant value from this collaboration and accelerate the ongoing mobility revolution by promoting the rapid adoption of EVs in India.

Tata Motors, being the official partner for all IPL matches, will display the Tiago EV across all 12 stadiums while also involving the audience in various activities. One such initiative is the "100 Reasons to Go EV with Tiago.ev" campaign that aims to identify the top mental barriers for consumers towards EV adoption. The campaign also seeks to dispel common EV myths and highlight the unique selling points of the Tiago EV.

This year's matches will also feature the "Tiago.ev Electric Striker Award," recognizing players with the highest strike rate of the match. The winner of each match will receive a trophy and a cash prize of one lakh, while the Electric Striker of the season will drive home the new Tata Tiago EV.

Moreover, Tata Motors will donate 25,00,000 towards enhancing the biodiversity of coffee plantations in Karnataka by planting saplings every time the ball hits the Tiago EV car on display. The company will also offer select match tickets to Tata EV owners.

Tata Motors has been an IPL partner since 2018, featuring products such as Nexon, Harrier, Altroz, Safari, and Punch over the years.
