Actor Raveena Tandon and music composer MM Keeravaani received the Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award, in a ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi, on Wednesday. President Droupadi Murmu presented the awards in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. MM Keeravaani, who gained recognition for composing the Oscar-winning song Naatu Naatu, was also awarded the prestigious Padma Shri for his contribution to the art field. At the beginning of this year, the Indian Central government declared 106 Padma Awards in different categories, including art, social work, public affairs, science and engineering, among others.
